Con la determinación de establecer los cimientos para el desarrollo de una plataforma en América Latina y el Caribe de capacitación en sistemas de semillas, el 23 y 24 de marzo se reunieron en el CIAT unos 40 expertos de reconocida trayectoria, representantes de una docena de instituciones de Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, México, Perú, Uruguay, Brasil y Venezuela.

The Capacity Strengthening and Knowledge Management Initiative has programmed interventions in four major areas:1. Creation of a Regional Capacity Strengthening Initiative for Latin America and the Caribbean.
2. Support to the CIAT-Corpoica-Colombian Ministry of Agriculture Initiative for Climate Change and the Orinoquia
3. Research on knowledge management
4. Strengthening of training activities at CIAT.
